Challenge:

  • As part of its drive towards setting the standard for sustainable transport, Network Rail wanted to offer EV charging for users of its car parks at six city-centre railway stations.

Requirements:

  • 800 charging stations needed across six APCOA-operated sites
  • Payment system needed to integrate with the APCOA app, allowing users to pay for parking and charging in a single transaction

Flowbird selects Compleo for Wokingham Council ‘Park and Charge’ contract

Challenge:

  • Flowbird provides and operates the payment stations at Wokingham Council’s public car parks. Keen to increase the number of EV charge points offered to its car park users, the Council approached Flowbird, seeking an integrated solution, who partnered with Compleo for delivery.

Requirements:

  • A white-label solution which enabled Flowbird to increase the scope of its contract with Wokingham Council whilst expanding its commercial offering with the addition of EV charging
  • Installation of twelve AC chargers over six sites
  • Seamless service for car park users, with payment for EV charging offered via Flowbird’s parking payment app

Solution:

  • Flowbird partnered with Compleo for an initial pilot across six of Wokingham’s public car parks
  • Compleo eBOX Professional chargers mounted on the space-saving ePOLE Duo – each capable of charging two vehicles at 22kW
  • All charge points branded to match Flowbird’s payment stations
  • Compleo’s eOPERATE software integrated seamlessly into Flowbird’s Park&Charge app

Oxford Direct Services boosts EV fleet charging facilities with Compleo

Challenge:

  • Providing essential services to Oxford City Council, Oxford Direct Services needed additional charging facilities at its Cowley depot for its expanding fleet of electric vans, as well as rapid charging for the UK’s first electric refuse collection vehicle.

Requirements:

  • 32 fast AC chargers for fleet of electric vans
  • Dedicated rapid DC charging station for electric refuse collection vehicle
  • Home charge points for staff with off-road parking
  • Ability to track and report on energy usage of each vehicle

Solution:

  • Installation of Compleo eBOX professional 22kW AC charge points at Cowley depot and staff homes
  • 50kW rapid DC charger
  • Provision of eOPERATE software for charger management and data provision
  • Full training for ODS staff to operate network of chargers, manage RFID cards and report on usage in-house
