At Compleo, we’ve always been dedicated to providing cutting-edge hardware solutions and outstanding service to our customers. As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering the best possible experience, we’re making an important update: our software backend will now be managed by vaylens, a newly evolved sister company under the Compleo group.
If you’re a Compleo customer, you’ll also be familiar with our software backend, eOPERATE, a product of Compleo Charging Software GmbH. As of 13th June 2024, Compleo Charging Software GmbH has rebranded to vaylens GmbH, and with that change, our software backend, eOPERATE, is now officially part of vaylens. You may have recently heard of vaylens as they launched in the UK at Fleet & Mobility Live on 8th October 2024.
This change allows Compleo to centre our focus on our core expertise as hardware manufacturers whilst continuing to offer you the very best hardware and software solutions and meet the highest standards. While the software division has now become vaylens, Compleo will continue to deliver the same reliable hardware services you’ve come to know and trust, working hand-in-hand with vaylens to ensure delivery of full turn-key solutions and a smooth and seamless transition for all customers.
While the transition is still ongoing, rest assured that nothing else is changing in your service—just the name and improved functionality. Here’s a quick summary of what you can expect:
What This Means for You:
- Documentation and Communications: You’ll soon begin receiving documentation and communications under the name of vaylens. You can trust these sources.
- Platform Branding: Your account overviews and invoices in eOPERATE, eMarketplace, and/or Enterprise will be displayed with vaylens branding.
- Customer Support: Our Compleo team will continue to assist you via email and phone regarding the software backend issues and enquiries. Should anything change, this will be communicated in advance and contact details will be provided.
Why is Compleo Charging Software Becoming vaylens? 
- To Better Serve Changing Customer Needs: The EV charging market has evolved, and so have charging systems. What started as simple charging sockets has now become complex systems that manage energy consumption, process transactions and monetisation, and integrate with various applications. As customer needs become more specific, the need for tailored software solutions has increased and a one-size-fits-all solution is no longer ideal.
- To improve Customer Experience: Software is now a core part of charging infrastructure and no longer an add-on. Reliable and efficient charging management software is key to creating a positive experience for charge point operators (CPOs), making a direct relationship with the software provider essential—independent of hardware.
- More Flexibility and Choice: With more suppliers entering the market and ever-evolving regulations, CPOs now use multiple suppliers for their charging infrastructure as more and more hardware becomes software-agnostic, such as our Compleo chargers. You will now have a wider choice of software providers with Compleo hardware whilst transitioning to vaylens will provide a seamless integration with a wider range of hardware models.
What to Expect Going Forward:
Compleo Charging Solutions UK will continue as a hardware-only provider, whilst vaylens will operate as a software-only provider under the Compleo Group, within the wider KOSTAL business. The familiar eOPERATE portal, where you manage your chargers and services, will now be transferred to the vaylens portal. You can access the new platform via vaylens.com, where you’ll also find additional information about the software backend and have the option to book a demo.
